Apple will hold another high-profile event in September to announce the new iPhone, this time in the form of the iPhone 14.

While some features of the new iPhone 14 series will be kept under wraps until its official release, several leaks have already given us a preview of what is to come.

Apple will release 4 new iPhone models for 2022 in a similar fashion to the last year's lineup, with the exception of a 5.4-inch "mini" model, that will be replaced by a 6.7-inch "Max" model.

The iPhone 14 will look like its processor in most ways.

The top-tier 'Pro' models are expected to have a pill-shaped hole-punch design for their front-facing camera.

While, the regular iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will retain the existing Face ID notch.

Apple appears to be using the same camera stack on the iPhone 14 series as it did on the iPhone 13 last year.

The less expensive iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max will retain 2 rear cameras, while the Pro models will have 3 cameras and a LiDAR sensor.

In terms of the front camera, the iPhone 14 will include a large selfie camera in all models.

For the first time, Apple's new A16 chip will only be available on Pro models, while all other models will either have the A15 (the same chip of iPhone 13) or some variant of it.

The iPhone 14 will still be powerful even with the A15 chip.

The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are expected to have storage capacities of 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

The storage capacity of Pro models will start at 128GB, with options for 256GB and 512GB as well.

iPhone 14 Max cost - $999 (or approx Rs 79,665) iPhone 14 Pro base model cost - $1099 (or approx Rs 87,640) iPhone 14 Pro Max may start at $1199 (or approx Rs 95,706)

Mind you, the retail price of the iPhone 14 series may be much higher because these costs do not include local taxes.

All iPhone 14 models are also expected to get a major battery boost.

Without a doubt, the iPhone 14 series will be faster and better than the previous iPhone models.

But not every rumoured feature will be included in the iPhone 14 and will thus be saved for a 2023 model.

We don't expect the iPhone 14 to have an in-display fingerprint reader or a USB-C port in place of the Lightning port, for example.
