That is why it is very important to take care that there is no constipation in the stomach, but today due to wrong lifestyle and wrong food, the problem of constipation has become a very common thing. And nowadays children, young and old have been troubled by this problem and due to this, new types of diseases are also spreading in the world. Today we also know the main causes of constipation and its treatment-

What is constipation and its symptoms?

Constipation means that the stomach is not clean. When there is constipation in the stomach, then there is a big problem in defecation, because in such a situation the stool becomes very hard, due to which one has to strain more and have to sit in the toilet for hours. Constipation patient has to go for defecation again and again and sometimes defecation is not possible for two-three days.

In such a situation, a person feels very laziness and does not feel like doing any work. Nature becomes irritable. He has to think many times before eating or drinking anything. Along with this, there is also a problem of ulcers or bad breath in the mouth. If constipation is not treated on time, then many health problems arise in the body. Due to the problem of constipation for a long time, there is a risk of many other diseases.

Symptoms of Constipation- Usually due to constipation- Lethargy, Fatigue, Nausea, Mild fever, Headache, Irritability, Stool-urinary problems, Indigestion, Abdominal pain, Heaviness in stomach, Weak intestines, Gas in the stomach, Stomach worms, Mouth ulcers, Halitosis, pimples on the skin, etc. health problems occur.

Note- According to health rules, a healthy person should go for defecation twice a day (morning and evening). If not twice then definitely at least once. Not being able to defecate at least once a day is a sign of poor health.

Constipation Causes : Why Does Constipation Happen?

There are many reasons for constipation, but the main reason is that if the food we eat is not digested, then there is a problem of constipation. In such a situation, dirt or stool-urine gets accumulated in the stomach… and this dirt gives rise to other health problems. According to Ayurveda, there should be a balance of everything in the body. The balance of the body is dependent on Vata, Pitta and Kapha. When there is an imbalance in these, the body gets surrounded by diseases.

There are many reasons for not digesting food or constipation, such as-

  • drinking less water throughout the day or by reducing the intake of healthy liquids like juice-soup etc.
  • not taking a little walk after a meal or by sitting down immediately,
  • drinking cold water immediately after eating,
  • eating something again without digesting the previous food,
  • Due to lack of Fibers in the food,
  • eating more things made of maida and fried chili-spicy food,
  • eating heavy or late-digesting food
  • not chewing the food properly,
  • drinking excessive amount of tea and coffee,
  • eating late at night,
  • smoking tobacco and cigarettes,
  • overeating outside or packaged food,
  • sleeping late and waking up late,
  • not taking the morning sunlight
  • by not exercising,
  • Hormonal disturbances or thyroid problems,
  • Using any English medicines or painkillers for a long time,
  • eating cold food from the fridge,
  • eating meat,
  • eating food prepared in utensils such as aluminum,
  • fasting too much or not fasting at all,

Along with all this, injuries or wounds in the large intestine, problems with digestion due to diabetes, diseases of the intestine-liver and spleen, depression, etc. can also cause constipation.


how to stay away from constipation

• At least 6 hours of sleep or maximum 8 hours of sleep should be taken daily.

• One should get up in the morning before sunrise or till sunrise,

• One should drink lukewarm water or lukewarm lemon water after waking up in the morning.

• One should sit in the clear morning air and sunlight.

• Some exercise or Surya Namaskar should be done,

• The stomach must be exposed to the morning sunlight for at least 5 minutes, it intensifies the gastritis, strengthens the intestines, strengthens the digestive power.

• Breakfast must be taken in the morning. Breakfast should be light

• In breakfast, liquids like seasonal juices should be included in more quantity,

• Breakfast or food should be eaten after chewing well,

• More and more fibrous diet should be taken in the food,

• There must be bran in the flour of food, it loosens the stool and cleans the stomach by wiping it.

• Eat wheat flour mixed with gram flour. Eat thick flour.

• Food should be cooked in the right utensils

• Refined oil and vegetable ghee should be used less in food. Instead, use mustard oil, coconut oil, olive oil, pure ghee etc.

• Maximum natural, satvik or vegetarian food should be eaten, Eat less outside or packaged food.

• Non-vegetarian food should be taken less or not. It is said that about 160 diseases are caused by non-vegetarian food.

• The use of fast-food should be reduced. Maggi, Pizza-Burger, Meat, Pepsi, Coke, Alcohol etc. cause damage to the large intestine.

• Eat less fine flour, sugar and white salt. Maida sticks to the teeth and intestines and harms health,

• One should not drink a glass of water immediately before and immediately after eating food (at least 45 minutes). A little water can be drunk in between meals.

• At least 500 steps should be walked after having dinner.

• Keep a fast in a week. Due to this, our body gets repaired from inside, otherwise our life force is engaged in digesting our food all the time. But don’t fast too much.

• Do not make a habit of taking tea and coffee every once in a while. Try not to take more than two cups of tea and coffee a day.

• Try to quit the habit of tobacco, cigarette and alcohol and leave it.

• Try to eat fresh food. Do not eat cold food in the fridge.

• After removing the food from the fridge, it should be heated after 45 minutes or an hour, It should not be heated immediately.

• Eat less heavy food. Take a walk for a while after eating a heavy meal.


(2) constipation treatment home remedies

Lemon-soda water- Add rock or black salt, a little black pepper and a pinch of baking soda in a glass of lukewarm lemon water and drink it, it also provides relief in chronic constipation.

Castor oil- Before sleeping at night, drink a glass of warm milk by adding 1 teaspoon of castor oil. This gives relief in constipation.

Triphala- Take a small spoonful of Triphala powder with warm water before sleeping at night, it provides relief in constipation. Doing this daily for a few days also provides relief in chronic constipation.

Isabgol- Isabgol is high in fiber, but it does not contain fat and cholesterol. It is very beneficial in dysentery, constipation, diarrhea etc. Take ten grams of isabgol husk with water in the morning and evening, it provides relief in constipation.

Applying asafetida in the stomach- If there is a problem of constipation or gas in the stomach, or there is constant pain in the stomach and there is no defecation, then mix a pinch of asafoetida in a little water and apply it around the navel, it provides relief. Due to this defecation becomes easy.
Caution- This remedy should not be done often. This remedy may also increase the heat in the body, or may cause problems like headache or slight dizziness, although soon relief also comes. Usually this remedy should be done in winters.

Cumin and carom seeds- Roast carom seeds and cumin seeds on low flame and grind them. Put black salt in this powder and keep it in a box or vial. Take half a teaspoon of this powder daily with lukewarm water. This gives relief in constipation.

Bael syrup (Bel sharbat)- The pulp of the bael cleanses the stomach from inside. Constipation is relieved by drinking Bael’s syrup. This remedy should be done in summer.

Tomato- Eating tomatoes cleans the intestines, strengthens digestion and provides relief in the problem of constipation, gas, bloating, dyspepsia. Roast good red ripe tomatoes, mix rock salt, black pepper and ginger, mint in its juice and drink. This gives relief in constipation and gas.

Buttermilk (Chaach)- Mixing rock or black salt in fresh buttermilk, apply tempering of asafoetida, cumin, curry leaves and mint and drink it, it also provides relief from constipation.

Water- Just as the dirt of any place can be taken out by shedding water rapidly, similarly drinking water in the right amount helps in getting the dirt out of our body. That is why clean water is also called natural medicine. Our body is made up of about 70 percent water, so there should be no less than this amount of water in the body.

Lack of water in the body leads to many health problems including headache, mouth ulcers, constipation etc. One should drink pot water in summer, boiled water in rain and lukewarm or hot water in winter. Drinking water kept in a clean copper vessel in the morning is beneficial for health.


Some other remedies to relieve constipation-

• Drinking mint syrup (Pudina sharbat) provides relief in constipation, gas, bloating, indigestion, indigestion etc.

• Soak the raisins in water overnight. Take out its seeds in the morning, boil it in milk and eat it and drink the milk. Or after roasting the raisins, taking out their seeds and eating them with black names.

• Boiling gooseberries and eating them with rock salt ends many stomach problems.

• Drinking lemon tea in the right quantity gives relief from the problem of constipation and gas.

• Eating ginger mixed with lemon juice and rock salt also provides relief in constipation, gas.

• Many stomach problems are removed by eating raw radish with food.

• Chewing sweet neem leaves (Curry leaves) and eating them cleans the stomach.
