Objectives of Inventory Control:

Inventory has the following main objectives:

1. To supply the product, raw material, sub-assemblies, semi-finished goods etc. to its users as per their requirements at right time and at the right price.

2. To keep inactive, waste, surplus, scrap and obsolete items at the minimum level.

3. To minimize holding, replacement and shortage costs of inventories and maximize the efficiency in production and distribution.

4. To treat inventory as an investment that is risky? For some items, an investment may lead to higher returns and for others less returns.

5. To protect against inflation since the prices of materials are constantly increasing. Thus it is important to invest in inventories and save whenever the price of the materials goes up. However, this benefit can only be availed if the cost of holding inventory is taken care off.

6. To avail quantity discounts on bulk purchases.

7. To maintain the overall investment at the lowest level, consistent with operating requirements.

Objectives of Inventory Control in Hindi:

इन्वेंटरी के निम्नलिखित मुख्य उद्देश्य हैं:

1. अपने उपयोगकर्ताओं को उत्पाद, कच्चा माल, सब-असेंबली, अर्ध-तैयार माल आदि की आपूर्ति उनकी आवश्यकताओं के अनुसार सही समय पर और सही कीमत पर करना।

2. निष्क्रिय, अपशिष्ट, अधिशेष, स्क्रैप और अप्रचलित वस्तुओं को न्यूनतम स्तर पर रखना।

3. माल की होल्डिंग, प्रतिस्थापन और shortage costs को कम करने और उत्पादन और वितरण में दक्षता को अधिकतम करने के लिए।

4. इन्वेंट्री को निवेश के रूप में मानना जो जोखिम भरा है? कुछ वस्तुओं के लिए, निवेश से अधिक प्रतिफल प्राप्त हो सकता है और अन्य के लिए कम प्रतिफल।
