It is necessary for every management to give proper attention to inventory management. Proper planning of purchasing, handling storing and accounting should form a part of inventory management. Because carrying too much or too low of goods is harmful to any business.

Effective Inventory management requires an effective control system for inventories. A proper inventory control not only helps in solving the acute problem of liquidity but also increases profits and causes a substantial reduction in the working capital of the concern.

For storing, tracking, delivering, and ordering inventory or stock, a collection of tools, techniques, and strategies, is called Inventory control management.

Inventory holds a significant amount of capital, if not the majority of a company’s capital. As a result, it is critical to control the coming and going of inventory as much as possible in order to minimise losses and maximise profits – which is where inventory management techniques come into an important role.
