1. प्रश्नावली व्यापक रूप से उपयोग किया जाने वाला और कम लागत वाला शोध उपकरण है। इसका उपयोग सरकारी विभागों, निजी उद्यमों, गैर सरकारी संगठनों, लोगों और समूहों द्वारा प्रतिक्रिया प्राप्त करने, अनुसंधान करने और आवश्यकता के आधार पर उपभोक्ताओं, ग्राहकों या आम जनता से डेटा एकत्र करने के लिए किया जाता है।

2. प्राथमिक सर्वेक्षण का सबसे महत्वपूर्ण पहलू प्रश्नावली है।

3. प्रश्नावली बड़ी संख्या में लोगों से महत्वपूर्ण मात्रा में डेटा एकत्र करने का एक कम लागत वाला, तेज़ और प्रभावी तरीका है।
